HAF Programme

๐ŸŒŸ Who Is the HAF Programme For?

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme aims to support children and families, particularly those in need. Here's what you need to know:

๐ŸŽฏ Funded Places

๐Ÿšซ Unfortunately, no funded places are available for the October Holiday Camps & Childcare.

โœ… The programme provides free holiday club places for children who:

  • Are eligible for benefits-related free school meals (FSM).

  • Live in areas where their local authority offers this provision.

๐Ÿ’ก Attendance is voluntary โ€” eligible children are not required to attend.

๐Ÿ’ก Eligibility for Free Places

Free places are specifically targeted at:

  • Children eligible for and receiving FSM.

๐Ÿ’ณ Paid Places for Other Children

The HAF Programme can also support children not on FSM, but who can pay to attend. Local authorities may offer paid places through:

  • ๐Ÿ•๏ธ Bespoke holiday clubs.

  • ๐Ÿค Integration into existing holiday programmes.

  • โš–๏ธ A mixed approach, tailored to local supply and demand.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Support for Vulnerable Children

Local authorities can allocate up to 15% of their funding (with written approval) to support vulnerable children or families in need. These may include:

  • ๐Ÿงธ Children in need or in care.

  • ๐Ÿ“ Children with an EHC plan (Education, Health, and Care).

  • ๐ŸŒ Children living in areas of high deprivation.

  • ๐Ÿ›Ÿ Children assessed as otherwise vulnerable.

This programme ensures flexibility and inclusive support for children and families, helping them thrive during school holidays. ๐ŸŒˆ
