๐ŸŽฏ Aim

We aim to:

  • Promote the good health ๐Ÿฅ of children in our care.

  • Prevent the spread of infection ๐Ÿฆ  and take appropriate action if a child becomes ill.

  • Ensure children with medical needs receive proper care and support โค๏ธ.

  • Provide clarity on the roles and responsibilities of both FUNDA staff and parents regarding medical needs.

๐Ÿ“‹ Method

  1. Health & Attendance Requirements

    • Children must be well enough to attend FUNDA to enjoy learning and

      growing. ๐ŸŒŸ

    • Parents are asked not to bring unwell children to the camp.

  2. Illness Reporting

    • If a child is ill prior to camp, parents must notify FUNDA ๐Ÿ“ž as soon as possible.

    • This allows FUNDA to inform other parents/carers if there is a potential risk of infection โš ๏ธ.

    • Children can only return once they are no longer infectious, preventing contamination ๐Ÿšซ.

  3. Illness During Sessions

    • If a child becomes ill during a session, we will contact the parent/carer to decide on the best course of action ๐Ÿ—ฃ.

    • Staff are trained to handle situations appropriately โœ….

    • Emergencies: FUNDA will contact emergency services ๐Ÿš‘ before notifying parents if required.

  4. Considering Everyoneโ€™s Welfare

    • Decisions consider the health and safety of all children and adults under our

      care ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ.

  • Verrucae must be covered with a waterproof plaster or clear nail varnish.

๐Ÿš‘ Treatment of Illness Procedure

  • If a child becomes unwell during a session, FUNDA will:

    1. Contact the parent/carer to discuss the issue ๐Ÿ—ฃ.

    2. Decide together on the next steps (e.g., rest, treatment, or collection).

๐Ÿ  Sending a Child Home Early

  • If a child needs to go home:

    1. Parents/carers will be contacted to collect the child promptly ๐Ÿ“ž.

    2. If collection isnโ€™t possible within 30 minutes, they must update FUNDA on their status โณ.

    3. If thereโ€™s no improvement after 30 minutes, the parent/carer (or an authorized person listed on the registration form) must collect the child ๐Ÿš—.

This policy ensures the health and safety of all children, families, and staff at FUNDA ๐ŸŒˆ.
